1997 Subaru Legacy Windshield wiper blades

1997 Subaru Legacy 4 cyl 134000 miles

I am having a problem with my wiper blades, when i engage the wiper swich niether blade wipes across the windshield, but moves down below the windshield and rocks up and down, it seems as though they may be out of sink or something, what should i do??

Locate where the wiper arms attached to the wiper spindle. Remove the cover and you will see a nut holding each wiper arm. Remove the nut, re-position the wiper arm where it is supposed to be and tighten the nut. Do both sides.
