I KEEP GETTING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND P0400 EGR FLOW MALFUNCTION. SINCE I HAVE 2 OF THESE CARS, I WAS ABLE TO SWAP PARTS READILY. I HAVE TRIED THE BACKPRESSURE TRANSDUCER, EGR VALVE, AND EGR SOLENOID. I HAVE CHECKED THE STEEL LINE THAT COMES FROM THE HEAD FOR OBSTRUCTIONS AND BLEW OUT ALL OTHER EGR PASSAGES. WHEN YOU FIRST INCREASE THE RPM FROM IDLE, YOU CAN OBSERVE THE EGR PINTLE MOVE TO OPEN FOR 2 OR 3 SECONDS AND THEN IT SNAPS SHUT AGAIN AS IF THE PCM DECIDED THAT THE EGR NEEDS TO BE CLOSED AND REMOVED THE CONTROL GROUND FROM THE EGR SOLENOID.
