1996 Subaru Legacy oil in overflow res.

i changed the thermostat and all is working well so far but while draining the radiator i noticed a bit of oil in the water. the overflow was also contained a bit of oil. no indication of water in the oil pan. what is causing this?[/quote:1b08a4bf25]

check tranny fluid
if low and or foamey
radiator no good
if all ok
just drive it for a few miles and check again
