Computer problem
1992 Subaru Legacy 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

I tryed to jumper the fuel pump relay to empty the gas tank and I jumper the wrong 2 terminals. I jumpered the correct 2 terminals and did empty the tank. However after I was done and went to start the engine it did not start. I had previously used the turn the ignition on for 3 seconds originally and was able to pump out a little gas but saw this would take to long to drain the tank so thats when I used the fuel pump relay. Now when I turn on the ignition for 3 seconds I do not believe the fuel pump is running.
The fuel pump relay is not bad because all I did to it was remove it. No test on it. I know it's good.
My question is did I short out something in the ECU/MPFI control unit ? I believe the fuel pump relay gets it signal to close the relay from the ECU control.
I checked all fuses inside and out under the hood and all are good. I hope I did not hurt the computer by putting full voltage to the circuit/relay instead thru the small amount of resistance in the relay that pulls it closed. Any advice would be appreciated.

Get a helper to turn key to run and feel the relay -did it click?-if not could be the computer control of the relay/ground driver.
