i have a ej22 subaru motor 1990.My crankshaft has been wallered out by a loose crankshaft bolt where the gear and pulley were rubbing on the crankshaft.Ihave replaced the timing gear and crankshaft pulley along with a new keyway. My question is this ,Can i mig weld the end of the crankshaft to make up for the loss then put timing gear with key way then pulley on .Will this work? i am aware of the front seal when welding and will use precaution.

Hi:
I question if it will work. My concern is balance. The crank needs to be balanced or you will have a vibration from the engine that will eventually cause other problems.
