a guy boosted, with a manual boost controller, the 02 wrx i just bought to 20 psi and went to accellerate on the hiway and he said it blew the engine and threw an engine code (dont have a scanner anymore so idk what code). when i went to buy it, i started it (which he said was not possible) and drove it onto the trailer. he doesnt know much about cars in general, and i have limited knowledge but am functional. it is currently knocking loudly, just changed the oil to 4qts 10w-30 +1 bottle Lucas oil stabilizer, knocking got quieter but persists. the oil had no water in it, however contained tiny copper/gold looking flakes in it. the knock does get louder as you accelerate. would this be something able to fix by myself without removing the engine or specifically require a tech? ...background.. i have recently replaced a head gasket in a 325is, valve cover and gasket on h22 prelude, alternators, fuel pumps, water pumps, and all routine maintenance on my car and friends' since 16.. im 23. any info can help. thanks guys!
