I brought my car in for an oil change, and after noticing that the "check engine light" was on, they ran a diagnostic and told me I need a new catalytic converter.
I had been planning to sell this car in a couple months, and according to Edmunds, should be able to get only about $4000 for it. The service station quoted me $1100 for the part, and about $150 for the labor. What should I do?
