Strange rear passenger window issue

Hello,

I have an issue with the rear passenger window and have tried multiple fixes to no avail. The driver's master window switch can only make the rear passenger window go up, it cannot make it go down. The switch on the rear passenger window works fine, and the window is 100% operational from that switch.

Things I have tried (in order):

-Resetting the switches with factory reset method. No difference.

-Ordered a confirmed working driver door master window switch and hooked it up. No difference.

-Ordered a brand new OEM driver door sub-wire kit (door jam to fuse box under dash) No difference.

-Tried swapping both rear window switches. No difference.

I would imagine at this point it has to be a short somewhere but I am not exactly sure how to proceed without a diagram. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I am Danny.

I have attached a blown up wiring diagram of the right rear window. If you need more diagrams let me know. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Thanks Danny, certainly does help. Do you have a suggestion as to where the fault or short may be or what to test? The rear switch works fine and powers the window both ways. The master only powers it up. Is there a driver's diagram that routes to the control module and then to the other doors?

Hello again.

I have attached two pictures from the power window circuits. The second one is the full page of what I attached prior.I would suspect you might be having a ground problem on the master switch. Be sure to check all the connections for being loose/corroded/burnt. I wish I could make the pictures bigger for you. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions. Thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Thanks again, Danny. I will get driver door open and inspect the ground(s) for the master switch. The diagrams are a little blurry, but I will try to make do.

I was able to piece everything together from searching here, this should be the entire diagram, yes?

I checked the ground in the lower kick panel on the driver side and everything seemed fine. Unbolted it and cleaned the connection, there were about four or five things grounded there.

I guess I am a bit confused as to the issue I am having. There is only one specific function on the driver switch that does not work - right rear window down. If the switch had a bad ground, would not all function cease?

Thanks,
Nick

Still no luck. Checked the grounds at both passenger locations and they both look fine.

Looking at the diagram, there has to be a short in the wire that sends a signal to the right rear switch to go down. It looks like it is the yellow 17 wire that is on the a3 pin in the passenger door. SW (D) I am of course assuming this is some sort of a signal wire to the RR switch.

Not sure I have the ability to sniff out a short in the wire so this may be the time I need to get to a mechanic.

It was the yellow wire in the door. Dealer found it, only charged $64.00 diagnostic fee.
