Last month I had my wheels balanced because my steering wheel was shaking violently. About a week later the same problem occurred, today I had an alignment done as well as new tires. Still shakes? What could the problem be? Vibration is when I am driving sixty plus mph. Any suggestions?

Most likely suspect is a warped brake rotor causing the caliper to shake back and forth. This is easiest to identify by removing the front wheels, then running the engine in gear, on a hoist. There can also be a chunk rusted and broken off a rotor.

Less common is a piece of debris caught between the hub and rotor or the rotor and wheel. You will see that as a wheel wobbling side-to-side when run on the hoist with the wheels still installed. That debris only becomes a problem after the wheel was removed, then reinstalled. If the vibration just started before the wheels were removed, this is not a good suspect.
