Hi there, the steering wheel shakes when I hit about sixty mph, making this noise. Also when I start driving the car wobbles a little but stabilizes at thirty mph or so. I took it to a shop and was told the lower arm bushings were worn out on both sides and they were replaced. There is less wobbling but the wheel still shakes at a higher speed. Could there be another problem that my mechanic did not notice? Thanks.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

A shaking steering wheel can be the result of a few things. For example, alignment, tire balance, a bent wheel, cupped tires, brake rotors and the list goes on.

Since you only feel it at a specific speed, I suspect it is a tire balance issue or you may have a bent rim. That is the first thing I would recommend having checked. Additionally, take a look at the tread on the tires to make sure they are wearing evenly and smoothly.

Here is a great link that shows pictures of tire wear issues and describes the causes. I am adding it in case your notice something with your tires. You can compare them to what is on the link.
