Steering rack rattle?

This is kind of low miles for a steering rack but how do you know it's the rack? Could it be the tie rod ends? Here are the instructions for removing the steering rack and how to replace the outer tie rod ends just in case.

Hi Ken L, thanks for your reply. Had car in for links etc. Garage confirmed knock was from rack. Needs a new thrust bush but seems no repair kit available for f15 model. Question is, do any of the available kits of which there are numerous fit the f15 rack?

That will be difficult to say, only a steering rack rebuilder would know that. You might need to get a rebuilt rack and replace the entire unit. Let me know what happens.
