steering makes a grinding noise

The power steering makes a grinding noise when turning from lock to lock, noise appears to be coming from the centre of the rack, not from the cv joints. Vehicle is fitted with electronic power steering.

check the suspension and steering parts for binding or anything worn out. if you can grease them, try this first
