steering boot cover?

in the first picture the steering boot isn't completely on the plastic. Is that a concern and can i zip tie or hose clamp it back?

Second picture can i apply some lube to those areas and which kind can i use? i have heavy duty wheel hub / axle grease (green stuff) i have a white silicone grease and silicone spray.

Hi,

I wouldn't be overly concerned with pic 1. If you want, you can use a zip tie to hold it in place. Just make sure not to crush the plastic component when you tighten it.

The items in pic 2 can be greased as well. I would use a general grease, the same as what is used on steering components. If you have wheel bearing grease, it can be used.

However, I don't know if you will successfully get the grease into the joint. These are usually sealed and not serviceable.

Okay, thank you for the reply. With how this car has been acting the last few weeks with all these problems one after another i am trying to stay ahead of anything this car is ready to throw at me, lol saying that I will post some pictures on my blend door question. i found one area soaked in oil where the higher sitting actuator is on the driver side.

Oil-soaked actuator? That's an odd one. I would love to see that. I'm not sure where it would have come from in that location.
