clunking sound from front right wheel When turning the Steering wheel

Only when turning the steering wheel,there is a clunking coming from the front right wheel.

if it is a deep clunking noise it sounds like a ball joint. If you jack up the car (doing this safety) on the right side and put a bar or something to pull up on that wheel from the bottom you will most likely find your problem. Ball joints usually take some effort to get them to duplicate the problem, so pull up on the tire hard.

If it is a ball joint, would not clunk when you hit bumps in the road? This only happens when turning the steering wheel.

well it could be a few things, you should jack up that front right side and see if anything is loose, such as suspension or steering components. possibly an inner tie rod end. but you have to investigate a bit more. try shaking that wheel and see what moves.

there is a technical service bulletin on corrosion on the end of the steering rack.
