Steering has minor clicking noise when making slow sharp turns

Car has been on road trip. No lights or sensors. It is possible I am over thinking this. Please I just need an honest answer.

When you make a sharp turn and hear a clicking, it is oftentimes related to a failing CV joint. Check under the front of the vehicle and locate the axles. Are any of the rubber boots on the axle (at ends) leaking or torn?

Okay, I have a feeling a CV joint is starting to fail. If possible, look under the front of the vehicle and inspect the rubber boots. Make sure none are leaking grease or damaged.

A clicking sound is the most common sound from a failing joint. By any chance, is it loud enough for you to record and upload for me to hear?

Are they expensive to repair?

Is it possible I may only need to fill up or replace fluid? I took the car on a road trip recently

There really isn't any fluid in the CV joints. They are packed with grease and then the CV boot seals the grease in and dirt out.

I'm on the opposite side of the country, so timing may be off for us. LOL

As far as replacement, the least expensive way to fix one (if bad) is to replace what is called the half shaft. Basically, you get a new axle with two new joints ready for installation. However, since you barely hear it, you should be okay for a while. If it is the joint, it isn't something that will just break. The clicking will get louder as it progressively gets worse. Eventually, it could break, but again, not overnight.

Let me know if you notice any grease that may have been flung under the inner fenders, on the backs of the front tires, or at any other location.

Also, if you are the original owner of the vehicle, a CV joint is still under warranty. It came with a 10-year 100,000-mile warranty. See pic below. The pic is from a 2013.Kia owner's manual.
