i had to take the steering wheel off and when we put it back on it flops all over the place, it's tilt steering. how do i fix it?

Hello Tewslic,
Is the wheel set all the way in? Can you elaborate more on it flopping around? Is it just the steering wheel moving, or does it seem like an issue with the tilt wheel?
It is keyed and can only go on one way but if it didn't sit all the way into position, it could flop around. Torque spec is 30 ft lbs., maybe it needs to be tightened more.
The splined shaft is tapered, according to my information, that the steering wheel pushes onto. If it isn't on all the way, it would make sense that it would be flopping around.
Personally, I would take it back off and make sure it went on the splines right and nothing is damaged. If it didn't seat right this could be the cause of the issue.
