starts only ones the battery terminal remove and reconnect

Hi my jeep only starts when the battery terminal disconnect and wait for one mint then reconnect then it starts . i found there is a code P0340. i changed the camshaft position sensor but same again i checked the wire connection from cam sensor to TCM its good. i found that in the not starting time when we crank there is no spark coming in the spark plug. what shall i do. should i change the TCM. ?

try resetting your security system on the truck. if no manual look online.

Hi i find out one more thing that when the non starting condition the camshaft position sensor not getting that 5 volt input, i think thats why its not generating the spark.

it said the TRUCK not Trunk in my reply. scan for codes then to see if cam sensor or wiggle test connector see if that is bad.

i checked the cam sensor connector and its wire both are fine . now i changed the PCM and TCM . unfortunately no change to the problem it acts same way, only starts ones we remove and reconnect the battery :(

can i try one thing , can i give a 5 volt from a different source so it won't get cut . will it make work the cam sensor?

replacing the pcm without programming security will not allow it to start a local pro has to do that no matter what the idiots behind parts counter say....... have it scanned for codes to find the problem

the only code it showing is P0340. this is only shows when in the non starting situation

code 340 is no cam signal at pcm you will have to check wires for a short in system or broken wire from there. I have no further comments or suggestions for this problem.

yes its a non cam signal situation . there is no signal coming from the cam to the cpm because there is no power going to cam sensor its only going when the battery resets. i didn't find issue with the wire i checked the continuity with the multimeter. it looks fine. by the way i have a diploma in automobile and i am a electronics engineer . but i have no wiring diagram of this vehicle . if you cannot help further it is so sad

and i was sure that its not a broken wire situation because if its a broken wire situation the vehicle won't start ones the battery resets
