going fast and accidentally got knocked into reverse?

We were going fast and accidentally got knocked into reverse it continued yo run for seconds then stopped moving. The engine sounds fine just won't move. Is thetransmission blown or could it be the sshift linkage or tourqu converter? How do i reach the shift linkage to check it?

Here is the information you requested. Its possible there could be internal damage that has been caused by having this happen. Best way to find out is to remove the transmission oil pan to inspect for metal pieces or shrapnel from damage. Here is a tutorial showing how to service a transmission:
