Starts but will not stay running

Is this something that's been going on for sometime, or it just started all of a sudden?

Just happened... Driving home and the engine kind of hesitated a couple times. Got home and turned off the car and ran in the house for a few minutes. Came out and started it and put it in reverse and the car shut off. Same thing several attempts. I was able to keep the RPM up enough to drive it out of the way. It did have codes, but I can't remember them now because the car has been sitting for a month. I think P0017 and some other one. Don't know if this has anything to do with it. I had a bad tire pressure sensor on one tire. I went to firestone to see if they could reprogram the tires because the system had them backwards. Because of the one bad sensor they couldn't complete the programing and now none of the tires show pressure . I did get a engine reduced power and service stabiltrak and traction when I drove it to firestone. Just extra info that might help.

The vehicle will go to reduce power or limp mode, to protect major engine components.
I think the best course to action would be to have the vehicle scanned that will help diagnose the issue.

It could be as simple as a sensor that got loose or having connection issue or could be a throttle sensor issue.
If you can scan and get all the codes that will definitely help. Just about all the local auto parts store have scanners that can be use to retrieve the codes.
