After driving the car for more than twenty minutes and shutting it off, and then trying to start it again within a few minutes it takes about five times before it will turn over some times.

Hello,

Yes, this sounds like a classic engine coolant temperature sensor that is not responding correctly.

Here is a guide to what you will be in for when changing the sensor out:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/coolant-temperature-sensor-cts-replacement

Here is the location for your car and the sensor test:

Resistance Value
-4°F (-20°C) 10 - 20k ohms
32°F (0°C) 4 - 7k ohms
68°F (20°C) 2 - 3k ohms
104°F (40°C) 0.9 - 1.3k ohms
140°F (60°C) 0.4 - 0.7k ohms
176°F (80°C) 0.2 - 0.4k ohms

Coolant temperature sensor on top right of cylinder head, near ignition coil.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
