Hi, this is a general question about manual transmission cars and the relationship between rpm and the rod bearings specifically.
If a manual car accidentally takes off from a stop in third gear instead of first gear I understand this will cause extra wear on the clutch, but will it damage the rod bearings?
Two techs I have asked say 'no' and that rod bearings are almost always damaged by lack of oil or contaminated oil.
Your thoughts? Thanks in advance!
