starter replacement

Need to check two things and report back.

Below is a picture of your "starter relay"

Its job is to give "power" to the starter when you turn the key to the "start" position.

Find it by following the positive battery cable or follow the starter cable to it.

Try this:

Remove "S" wire from it and hook your battery back up.

Is it still cranking?

If so, remove the battery cable (to stop the cranking)

Unless the wires on the starter relay have been changed around during your repairing.

Let's also make sure "S" did not get swapped with the "I" wire on the starter felay.

The problem is the starter relay!

Okay,

You hooked it up, It is not cranking, you stick "S" wire back on and it starts cranking.

For some reason "S" wire is energized with twelve volts (with the key off or on)

The only time "S" should have twelve volts is when the key is in the "start" position.
