That is hard to say. The first thing that comes to mind is that the battery is draining and causing the gauges to go wild. Unfortunately, there is real no relation to a starter and your gauges.
I think the best bet would be to have the battery checked and codes scanned at a local parts store. They can do both and normally do it for free.
The codes in the system (If any) will point us in the best direction. Thanks
