Starter issues- dies unless give it some gas

Have a new starter already, throttle body has been cleaned--- engines dies immediately after starting-- unless pressing accelerator or it's cold or if A/C running. Also about every 8th time starting the starter stays engaged after I release key. Thanks for responding Baffled Beth
