Hello, my mother owns the vehicle listed above and I don't have the vehicle on hand because she is three hours from me. was wondering how difficult it is to replace the starter, I tried to look it up and have trouble finding info on the 2010 Xterra and what I did find with the earlier models seemed people had trouble getting the starter out because of lack of room. so, I don't know what tools I will need especially if I have to unbolt a motor mount to jack the engine up some. I'm pretty handy so I was wondering if you could run me through the process of removing the starter. Thank you.

Hello, it doesn't say anything too difficult, it does say to remove the exhaust manifold cover, there's a couple of pictures, but not too much detail. I don't see anything about having to remove motor mounts or anything like that. This is from AllData and ProDemand, I will keep looking a little more and see if there's any additional info, it may have been different on older models, I'm not 100% sure. But I will post anything else found. Obviously disconnect your battery negative first,
It does look like the older models it was a bit more difficult.

Hi, my mom has the Xterra and we're not in the same hose hold and was wondering if possible, you can walk me through the removal of the starter because I would like to make sure I have all the tools needed. I would rather be prepared but not knowing if I'm going to need to unbolt a motor mount to lift the engine or what, can find info on the year and not knowing if and earlier model is the same on removal, want to make sure I have all the tools needed. Thanks.
