Hi STACYLYNN7,

Yes, they made several starters that fit that truck and some of them used shorter starter bolts, you need to get another starter or use shorter starter bolts.

Please let us know what you find so it will help others.

Yep, the starter is bad and you need another one, may I suggest getting you money back and getting a AC Delco unit from Amazon. You will have better luck with an factory unit.

https://www.amazon.com/TYC-1-06449L-New-Starter/dp/B00BG3GTE6/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Chevrolet%7C47&Model=C1500%7C424&Year=1995%7C1995&ie=UTF8&n=15684181&newVehicle=1&s=automotive&vehicleId=6&vehicleType=automotive

Double check the fit and engine size.

Also Rockauto.com has AC Delco

Let me know how it goes.

Best, Ken

Hi Stacylynn7,

Unfortunately it is not uncommon for a new part to be bad right out of the box. I agree with Ken return it to where you purchased it from and either get your money back or try another one.

Let us know how this turns out.

Kindest regards,

Renee
