Stalls when transmission is shifted into gear or running really bad when in gear

I have been having problem from day 1 got the car for $150.00 With 55,000 miles but can't seem to find out the problem. it'll start fine try to rev it up it'll some times rev up no problem other times it'll act like it only half power try to put in gear and drive it'll bog out and shut off. restart runs rev it up a little and put in gear it'll move but keeps bogging down until it shuts off. just put a new fuel filter and fuel pump thinking that'll be the problem but it's not list of all parts that been put on over the time of hunting this problem out etc., any idea let me know.
