Stalls when put in drive or reverse

My car started stalling out when put in reverse or drive. But now today, it will not even crank at all. any suggestions? It is my only car. I have cleaned the MAF sensor, and also noticed two wires were cut on the down stream o2 sensor, so rewired it. No check engine light on. Any suggestions?Thanks in advance.

Hello,

It sounds like you have an alternator that is failing. You will need to jump start the car to get it going so we can test the alternator output.

You turn the key and get nothing? No click or starter action?
Or it does turn over (crank) but not start?

For the first one I would suspect the battery.

What colors were the two wires? Blue/yellow stripe and black? Those would be the O2 heater circuit.

The wire colors; one black, one white. the car turns over, but does not start now. At first it only shut off when put into gear. But now it never starts while cranking.
