Stalls out every time I stop, does this car have an inline fuel filter?

Replaced the battery, alternator, spark plugs. Same problem. Chugs going uphill or turns itself off. Does that when going 60MPH. If I accelerate, it sounds like it's going to shut off. So, I let off the gas and it sounds somewhat normal. Sometimes it shakes when it stalls.

I've read this is a common problem with this car. A few people replaced the crank shaft position sensor. I definitely want to know if it has an inline fuel filter. I know there's a mesh filter in the pump. So, what do you think? The sensor is cheap and so is a filter (inline one - if there is one) but a fuel pump - yikes! Not cheap. Want this fixed ASAP so i appreciate your prompt expertise. I do have a licensed mechanic to fix it, but he lives over an hour away and I'd like to have the parts here, ready for him. He's never driven this car. Hence, my contacting you. Last couple times, on a previous vehicle, you guys were great, answering my questions!!!

Hi,

What you described could be a couple of things. For example, low fuel pressure, a partially plugged catalytic converter, or even an engine vacuum leak can cause this.

Personally, I feel it is most likely low fuel pressure. When you press the throttle to accelerate, there is more of a demand on the pump. Based on your description, that is what it seems to be.

The fuel filter is in the tank with the fuel pump module. However, this vehicle has an access port under the rear seat to access the pump. That makes it a little easier.

Here is what I suggest. I would start by testing the fuel pump pressure. That will tell us if that is a concern.

You will need a fuel pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend one to you. Additionally, I attached the manufacturer's fuel pressure specifications specific to this vehicle below.
