My van stops running while driving. My foot is off the accelerator pedal and I am approaching a stop when it stalls, I recently ran the battery drained.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com. If the issue happens when you take your foot off the accelerator, I would recommend a couple things to check. First, check for engine vacuum leaks. Here is a video on how to do that:

If you find no leaks and the check engine light is not on, I would then suspect the idle air control valve, IAC. The IAC is located on the throttle body and is designed to maintain the engine's idle when you remove your foot from the accelerator. I have attached a picture of what the one looks like for your vehicle.

Here is a video of one being serviced. It is on a Toyota, but the process is the same:

If you find that it needs replaced, here are general directions to guide you:

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

Hi.
I cannot find the IAC valve. We removed the throttle body and took it apart and could not find the valve.
