The sport light came on blinking, the vehicle lost ability to engage without pressing on the pedal... Literally the car lost its power, the mechanic had it in the diagnostics and suggested we buy another gear box, which I did, fixed it, but the blinking was still there. he advised we buy the ECU-"the one that controls lights, alarm etc... I did but blinking still there, we changed the gear box a second time, blinking still on. we fixed a new ABS pump, yap, the car regained it's power but still blinking on.... Guys I am so done with the blinking sport thing,.... So worked up... Kindly help.

Hello thanks for using 2CarPros, have the transmission fluid and filter changed.this light isn't related to engine issues, if you look at your transmission fluid it will most likely be brown not pink and needs to be serviced. Have it changed and drive the car a couple of days and you should be all set. Light should go out on its own. If not let us know.

Thanks for your response but please note as we changed the gear box we also had new transmission fluid and new filter fixed... What we haven't done is drive out of garage to cover more than 10km at high speeds for fear of causing more damage.

Is making any noise that would lead you to believe damage has occurred ? After the transmission fluid and filter change, the car has to be driven for the light to go out. Has the transmission computer been scanned for codes?
