When trying to accelerate quickly in second or third gears the car gets extremely sluggish and splutters when below 2000 revs. If I keep trying to accelerate through this, the car goes into limp mode, the engine management light comes on, the fan come on constantly, the trip computer stops working and "emissions system faulty" error message shows up.
If I turn the engine off and on again, everything except the engine light and error message resets and the car drives the same as before.
If I replicate the conditions that cause the car to show the error message, it all happens again.
When I took it to a garage, they just reset the ECU and said they could not find an error, but something is causing this.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?
