Spontaneous shake in rear if car

Do you know what he is saying the part that needs to be replaced now is?

Does this happen when hitting a bump? It sounds like it could be a bushing issue if it was installed incorrectly or the wrong part but based on this info it is hard to know for sure.

Normally these things are not intermittent when something is bent. Basically once it is bent it will cause the issue all the time.

I attached a picture of the rear suspension below. Can you tell us what bushings he replaced and if you see the part that he is blaming now?

He replaced the rear axle/wishbone bushes. The part that is damaged looks similar to part 8 on the diagram. Looking at videos it seem to be the part that's jacked up during the process of changing the bushes. The bolt connecting it to the wheel is bent looking as if forced back in. The wobble is spontaneous and happens if hitting uneven surfaces or on tight bends. Thank you for your help! It's much appreciated.

The wheel is also noticeably uneven as it sticks out more at the lower end.

Okay. You mentioned a video but I did not see one attached. Can you just get a picture of what is bent including the wheel? Clearly if you can see the wheel is not even then that is the issue.

So if number 8 looks like it is the item that is bent then that would make sense why this happens when you hit bumps because this is what absorbs the shock when you hit them.

Can you get a picture of this as if this started after he replaced these bushings then it may be something he did but that would only be if he installed it upside down. He would not have bent anything when installing it. Thanks

That wheel is not as drastic as I was imagining so thank you for the picture. However, that is leaning in a bit at the top and if this is the same wheel that this shock is on in the video then that is definitely something that needs to be fixed even if it doesn't fix this issue but I suspect it will.

That shock is not positioned correctly as it should be equal on both sides as shown in the picture below. Plus you can see how the bushing is squeezing out the one side. So this is not correct and needs to be fixed.

Perfect thank you so much for your help. Yes, the wheel doesn't look too drastic but the wobble itself is very noticeable whilst driving. I will return this to a mechanic to be fixed. The other mechanic that had fitted the bushes wishbone/axle bushes obviously didn't reassemble the parts as he should have. As this was not an issue before I brought the car to him.
