Spitting and sputtering and the check engine light came on

My truck started spitting and sputtering, but so did my wife's car around the same time I thought bad gas, nope. So I had a couple of misfires and it got worse and the check engine light came on and when I hit the gas pedal it flashes. I changed spark plugs and it is a little better, but light is still on.
