Speedometer not working

My ABS and brake light are both on. Speedometer and odometer do not work. Changed a ABS speed sensor that was bad, did not correct the issue. When I use my scan tool I get code u1036. When I use the scan tool to check vehicle perimeters and drive the car the speed reads correctly and consistently. What could it be?

Hello,

It sounds like the output shaft speed sensor is bad here is the location so you can change it out to see what happens. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

Thanks for this post I had this problem and replaced the sensor for $56.00 all fixed!
