Can a speed sensor cause your vehicle to run funny and idle funny?

Good afternoon,
Do you mean a transmission speed sensor? If you do, then no, it cannot.
You have a crankshaft position sensor for the engine that could cause this but it would set a code if it did. Do you have any codes set?

The other possibility is a dirty throttle body. I would try that first before moving on to anything else.
