Speedometer works intermittently

Speedometer works for a while, then stops, then works.

Good morning.

There is a sensor on the transmission that controls the speedometer. It is a common failure.

Is the check engine light on? If it is, do you know the code?

Okay.

Then you will need an advanced scan tool to see if the signal from the sensor is reaching the PCM. If the signal is getting there then it is the instrument cluster is the issue.

If there is no signal then it may be the sensor not sending the signal.
