The ~4" mid dash speaker is making a noise akin to when the insulation of or the foam has a loss of integrity and will replace it. I have the upgraded Infinity/JBL audio system. I removed the full range (not coaxial) mid-range speaker to try to identify the impedance, OEM model #, etc. I could only find a JBL sticker with the OEM model #96350C6000. I used a meter to estimate the impedance @ 4 ohms (meter registered ~3.5 and I read that these measurements are within range for a 4 ohm unit). I have not been able to find any info. about the OEM speaker's freq. response and RMS ratings for min and peak. This info. would be helpful for finding a system compatible with aftermarket speaker. Of course, I will then have a challenge finding one that fits the internal dashboard mounts, but that's another fish to fry. BTW, the OEM replacement is around $240 - not going to happen.

Many thanks,
-Doug

Doug,

How did you make out on this? Same issue just happened to me on my 2016 Kia Sorento SXL.

Thanks,
Mike

I am not sure, they asked the question which I answered, and they never responded. What problem are you having?

Thanks to both above respondents to my query about how to replace that dash speaker on my Sorento. I did finally figure it out by buying an aftermarket speaker and adding some extension washers to reach the two screw connections. It was somewhat of a laborious process, and I posted the process and pics on the Kia-Forums.com site and forgot to do so here. Perhaps this link to my post on the aforementioned forum will work for you. https://www.kia-forums.com/threads/replacement-for-infinity-center-dashboard-speaker.362957/#post-2127529

Thankfully,
