So out of nowhere one morning I start my car and noticed that all my speakers had static. Once the car has been on for about 15-20 the static will go away. But it happens every time my car sets for a few hours.

When you have static the battery is a little low on charge and the alternator is working to recharge the battery. When this happens you will have the static noise this is because the alternator is a little noisy as it starts to wear but to be sure this is the problem we can shut the engine off and disconnect the alternator plug and then start the engine to see if the noise is gone. Please check out the image below, let us know what happens.

So, if that works. What should I do? Replace the battery?

Either the battery or the alternator can cause it. If the battery is more than 4 years old replace it first.

Yes, it could do that, the problem is noise in the electrical system which is difficult to test for. Did you disconnect the plug from the alternator and start the car to see if the noise was gone?

I did unplug it. It’s still doing the same thing! Usually it takes about 20-30 minutes before it clears up. This morning was very cold and it took a hr before it cleared up.

It sounds like the amplifier inside the truck is having a problem. Let's check to make sure the grounds are good and if so, I would try a used amplifier which you can get by searching Ebay. Here is a guide to help us test the ground connections and the radio and amplifier wiring diagrams to help with the testing. You might want to try disconnecting and reconnecting the connectors, sometimes this can help elan the terminals.

It looks like the amplifier is on the right side of the trunk. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
