Spark plug wires

If you had a wire crossed (due to a bad diagram) then your Jeep would run really rough. Not just a slight hesitation, but major hesitation, shaking, skipping, and probably even backfiring.

What I would ask is what spark plugs and wires did you use? Often times, using plugs/wires that aren't stock will cause issues, as they have different spark strength than what the engine is designed for. So basically, always go with stock plugs. Split fire plugs and other "upgrades" usually don't help anything.

Also, just a tip, when changing spark plugs, only remove one plug wire at a time, so as to avoid confusion and potentially crossing the wires.

So which is the right one? It is a 1995, but the wires on the Jeep are the same as the 1987-1991 diagram. I am kind of confused.

Here is what your diagram should be for a 1995. I am pulling up the other one in a second for comparison.

This is for a 1991. It is basically the same, just with the distributor in a different location (which has no effect on performance). The actual firing order and direction that the distributor turns is the same.

So basically, either diagram would get the job done for you.
