Spare tire maximum size

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

The spare tire should have the same outside diameter size as what is on the car. You should never mix sizes. You also mentioned wheel size. A larger wheel can be used as long as the tire has a lower sidewall profile which again, has the same outside diameter as the tires on the vehicle.

I see I did not make my question as clear as it should have been. I am trying to find out the largest size spare tire will fit up under the caravan in the spare carrier.

No problem. I do not think you will like this, but with the stow and go design, the spare tire location has been moved and will only fit a compact spare tire. A full size tire will not fit.

I wish I had a better answer, but that is the reality.
