It sounds like you have the problem identified as the cracked slave will certainly give you a soft pedal for the clutch.
I will include the steps for removal even though it sounds to me like you know what to do.
-Raise and support the vehicle with jack stands.
-Remove and plug the hydraulic hose from the clutch slave cylinder.
-Remove the fasteners that hold the cylinder to the transmission housing. I recommend spraying them with penetrating oil (PB Blaster, WD-40 etc) and letting them set for while before attempting to remove them. If they are still being stubborn, try tapping on the face of the bolt head with a hammer and a drift punch. If that still does not work, then apply some heat to the area on the transmission housing where the bolt threads are. (not too hot). Be careful not to snap the bolts off when removing, that will cause you a bigger headache later.
-Remove the slave cylinder.
To Install, just reverse the process,
Note: before reinstalling the clutch slave, lubricate the tip of the plunger that contacts the clutch release lever. Molybdenum grease is best.
Once installed, top off the fluid, then bleed the system.
When complete, fill the fluid to the proper level once again.
