Snapped off antenna

I broke off my antenna. I was wondering if I need to replace the whole base as well of if I can unscrew the black piece with ridges and put a whip on.

You want to out a whip on it? Is this an off-road car? That would be cool. You will need to remove the headliner to remove the antenna base, here is a diagram of what needs to be done. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response :)
