Hello,

This could be a problem with your throttle body bore needing to be cleaned. Over the course of time your throttle body will get gunked up with black "tar" like substance. This is a natural occurrence from moving a lot of air. The sludge will interfere with the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) signal. Without a proper signal from the TPS the Power-train Control Module (PCM) AKA, "computer" will not know how much air is entering the engine. The vehicle will go into "limp" mode because your vehicle will not want to go lean and do engine damage. I have included a couple of links down below for you to go to.

Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex

I cleaned out the throttle body and replaced the pcv valve and hose but still doing the same thing. Could it possibly be a clogged converter.

Hello,

Did you clear the Direct Trouble Codes (DTC)(s) from the Power-train Control Module (PCM)?

Thanks,
Alex

Yes it could be the catalytic converter causing the issue. here is a guide to help confirm the failure:
