slow acceleration

Can you give me any information about why my car has slow acceleration? I can have the gas pedal to the floor and it still accelerates slow.

have the cat converter checked for being clogged

The cat is brand new, changed about a month ago. I have had people tell me that the transmission filter is clogged, can that be a reason for slow acceleration?
