Sloshing in heater core, no heat

Start with replacing the thermostat and bleeding all the air from the system.

If this is a dual zone climate control, you likely need a new control head. They cost about $1,000.00 and are a very common problem. So common that most dealerships cannot get their hands on them for weeks at a time. You may hear the mode doors switching, but the blend doors are doing whatever the control head is in the mood to do. If you take out the glove box, there is an actuator there that handles the driver's side temperature. Change the temperature and observe it.

Also, there is a chance that the weakly designed blend doors are broken, and the actuators are turning the shaft that the doors are attached to, but to no avail.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but after spending hundreds on my wife's Grand Cherokee trying to fix it, we just ended up selling the thing because it was not worth that investment to us.

There's are 3 of the same jeeps at my local yard, what does this component look like, are there pinpoint tests to verify functionality?

It's the unit with the knobs and the display and all. I doubt the ones at the yard are good though. There's no test other than to put it in and see what happens, so I wouldn't buy from a yard that won't guarantee it. Did you try the reset/relearn process? And have you got the engine to get warmed up yet? If the engine's not warmed up, you're not going to ever get heat.

Ok, thank you. The recirculation button on mine was broken so a friend pulled the entire assembly from another jeep including the control board....so I'll purge the coolant and get rid of the sloshing, see if I get any heat, if not I'll swap out the control module.

It's pretty straightforward. Pull the plastic bezels off, undo *I think* 4 screws/bolts, and slide it out and unplug. Installation is the reverse. I'll double check though and see what I can find more specific information.

I looked it up on Prodemand and am attaching a screenshot. It says pretty much what I said. Not very specific and no pictures. You might try a youtube search though if you really want to. Sometimes you can find great information on there.

It's odd, I'm starting to think the thermostat is stuck open. Temp Guage never gets to normal, but when warm the sloshing seams to go away but the overflow tank gets full. Time for a flush, burp, and thermostat.
Tonight I was listening to the blend doors and as I adjusted the output the noise from the lower passenger side never changed, however output did come from other sources. So maybe it's a combo of both.

Any exploded view to show where all the goodies are at under the dash. To check the doors?

There is no such diagram that I can find, unfortunately. Chrysler can be a little secretive about certain things. It's probably why there's never been a circuit board diagram released for that control unit so others could fix them. What I do know is that the blend door actuator for the driver's side is behind the glove box, while the other one is on the very back of the HVAC unit, basically on the firewall, requiring you to pull the whole dash to get to it.

I always feel cold air if I open the glove compartment. Starting to thing I have a stuck blend door, thermostat issue (or clogged rubbing to overflow) and a bad control board/temp sensor. I used ever trick I know to burp he system, put it up on ramps on an incline, put the drivers side up on a ramp....engine. Ever got to normal. Should have had my odb2 plugged in to see actual temp.
Also, the noise always is predominately coming from under passenger dashrefardless of setting.....again, blend door

2ndary question, I found some wires peaking out from the center console on the passenger side. Spun red and yellow, - black and green I think that terminate at a connector not connected! Plus, there's a bit connecter connected in the odd wires....tells me someone has been in there messing with things!

I'd go ahead and change that thermostat. It's only about $10, and it'll help to rule that out as a problem. Then see what's what. Next thing would be to get to that actuator behind the glove box and take it off. You can then manually move the blend door to see if you get heat on the driver's side. You can also observe the actuator to see if it moves when you change the temperature.

At least that's what I'd do.
