Octavia L&K - I've had this car as a company car from new, April '06, and it is a great motor so in October '09 I bought it. The Octavia does just what I need - or rather it did until a couple of days ago. I unlocked the car using the remote (two presses for unlocking all the doors) and went around to the boot, which refused to open, even though it made a noise when the rubberised opening butten was pressed. I tried various options of opening doors, locking and unlocking, trying the boot openiig button on th ekey fob, trying the lock/unlock button on th einside of the car, even using the key to lock and unlock the driversand central locking. Nothing seens to work. The boot mechanism continues to make a servo noise.
On trying the remote from inside the boot there is a servo noise coming from the rear drivers side pillar. On using the boot unlock remote button from in the boot, the lock makes a servo noise but doesn't shift. A friend mentioned that his Audi did the same and he had to remove a plate in the boot lining panel to access a switch (?), but I can't find anything similar on my Skoda.
Am I at the mercy of the dealer or is it a simple brute force and ignorance job that I can fix with a part off the internet?
