My car runs fine until it warms up. Once it’s been run for a while it idles weird and eventually if I don’t keep giving it gas it’ll just shut off. It turns back on right away, but it starts idling weird not too long after then shuts off again. I need to keep my foot on the gas when I’m stopping so it doesn’t shut off.

Hello GOMEZJEANESSA,

Is this vehicle completely stock?

Also is it an RS or IROC-Z?

If so, it's possible it is your Idle Air Control Valve. It is located on the passenger side of the throttle body under the air cleaner. I will add a picture to aid in locating it.

Sometimes they get gummed up and you can clean them but more than likely it will need to be replaced.

I would inspect the wiring just to make sure there are no issues there.

This article will help aid you in doing that:

This article will give you an idea of its operation but does not look anything close to the one you will find on your Camaro. This is more just for you information. I think understanding how a component operates is a big leap in diagnosis.

Here is the article:

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Thank you,
Brendon
