Hi, I was driving my car (listed above 40th anniversary) home and engine light came on then it shut off. I tried to start it back but it just cranks. I saw on some videos that it might be flooded, so I charged the car with other car and after eight or ten times tried to started, I tried to rev the car for like ten minutes but when I let go of the gas pedal it shuts off and will not start unless I do it all over again. Please help me.

Hello, I am Danny.

The Check Engine Light means there is a code stored in the cars computer. That code will tell where to start looking for the vehicle's poorly running symptoms. If you have access to a scanner/code reader if you could get back to us with the code numbers we would be happy to help. If you do not have access to one your local auto parts stores (Pep Boys, Autozone, O'Reilly's) will do a scan for free. I have attached a tutorial showing what is involved in the process. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hi, there is only one fault code its (U0073) which means my OBD was not working good. Any other suggestions? I cannot take the car because it does not start. It only starts if other car will charge it and then it will shut off when idle.
