I have the car listed above it won't shift into reverse and keep popping out second gear. Is shifter lug or cables bad?

Transmission keeps popping out of second gear and will not shift into reverse

Hi,
The first thing I would do is have a helper shift through the gears while you watch for excessive play where the shift linkage attaches at the transmission as well as under the vehicle where it comes through the floor. Take a look at pictures 1 and 2. Try that and let me know.
